Risk Management - Use of Safe Harbours

This lesson covers the planning risks, where an organisation won't, or are afraid to, start on their Productivity Journey because 'it's too big a risk' or 'it's unnecessary risk-taking.'

We must be cautious, is there a Safe Harbours approach?

Within each of the 9 Phases of Productivity, there are sub-stages designed to be a safe place to stop, called a Safe Harbour. These stages facilitate continuous, progressive improvement without risk to business as usual. If there are any disruptions, they are brief and relatively trivial, and once embarked on a phase improvement you will very quickly arrive at your next Safe Harbour, where you can stay until you’re comfortable to sail on through the next phase.
