How - Getting Ready For PAVE: The Focus on Data Prerequisites to PAVE

There are a number of prerequisites that the customer needs to clear before they can get started installing PAVE. This is why PAVE is a Phase Seven productivity improvement.

Here is the minimalist journey list of prerequisites to clear from the Focus on Data Phases, should your business not yet have finished this journey.

Productivity Phase

Prerequisites that Need to be Cleared

Phase Two - Computerised, “It’s All in the System”

Remove reliance on paper files and folders (e.g. use eDocs ideally)

Phase Two is characterised by getting rid of the paper and getting the work into a computer system. You will need your computer system to provide a single central point for all jobs and information. Any person can look up any job at any time. Even better, multiple people can be looking at or working on a single job at the same time.

Phase Three - Enterprise Integration, “If Data is Anywhere in Your System, it’s Everywhere in Your System”

Work out how to integrate unconnected systems and transfer key information. Could be integrations to add key data of reference numbers into CargoWise One.

Phase Three is characterised by getting the most out of the system through being more efficient in the way data is stored, shared, and used. You will need to reduce rekeying of job information. Any information about job changes should be keyed in by the first person aware of the change, and is then automatically available to all departments that will require it.

Phase Four - Supply Chain Integration, “Sharing Data With Customers and Other Businesses in the Supply Chain”

N/A

Phase Four is characterised by making data easily accessible to other businesses, both up and down the supply chain.

Note: Phase Four - Supply Chain Integration, “Sharing Data With Customers and Other Businesses in the Supply Chain” is not required for being PAVE ready.
